Sorting posts and comments

Every post list and every comment thread has a small

sort bar above it. Tap a way of sorting and the list

re-orders right there — the page never reloads. When you

are signed in, the site remembers your choice: one

choice for posts, one for comments, and it is still in

effect next time you visit. Signed-out visitors always

get the defaults.

Sorting posts

The post sort bar appears on your feed and on band,

venue and profile walls.

  • Recent (the default) — the usual list, newest

first.

  • Relevant — the same posts, ranked by how much

reaction they have gathered: positive reactions plus

twice their comment count, newest first when tied.

  • All — on your feed, this widens the net to

every post on the site, not just people and pages

you follow, newest first. On a wall, the list is

already everything on that wall, so All reads it like

an archive: oldest first.

  • Most reacted — by total positive reactions (every

kind except Dislike).

  • Most discussed — by comment count, replies

included.

On the feed, the category buttons (General, Gigs,

Wanted, Lessons) still apply on top of whichever sort

you pick.

Sorting comments

The comment sort bar sits above each post's comments —

and above the questions on a Marketplace listing, which

use the same system.

  • Relevant (the default) — the way threads have

always read: top-level comments oldest first, and

under each one the replies are ordered by their score

(reactions minus dislikes), with the best reply shown

and the rest behind a "View more replies" tap.

  • Recent — top-level comments newest first, and

replies newest first too.

  • Oldest first — everything in the order it was

written.

  • All — the whole thread flattened into one long

chronological stream: every comment and reply in time

order, no nesting, nothing collapsed. Handy when you

want to read a busy thread straight through.

One thing never moves: if the post's author has pinned

a comment, it stays at the top in every sort (see

Pinning and moderating comments).

Downvoted replies

A reply whose score sinks to −5 or lower (five more

dislikes than positive reactions, in any mix) folds

away to a single line — **"Downvoted reply — tap to

view"** — so a thread stays readable. Tap the line and

the reply appears, with its own replies under it as

usual. The person who wrote the reply always sees it

in the open; burial is only ever for everyone else.
