Calendar export (iCal & Google Calendar)

Take MusicXen gigs anywhere. Every band, venue, and fan gets a downloadable .ics calendar plus one-click Add to Google Calendar links.

What's available

  • Band: `/bands/<id>/export` — upcoming confirmed shows for one band. Direct feed: `/calendar/ical/band/<id>.ics`
  • Venue: `/venues/<id>/export` — upcoming confirmed shows at one venue. Direct feed: `/calendar/ical/venue/<id>.ics`
  • Fan (you): `/my/gigs` has a Download as .ics link for your unified gig feed. Direct feed: `/calendar/ical/me.ics` (login required)
  • Single show: `/calendar/ical/show/<id>.ics`

How to use the .ics file

  1. Click Download .ics on any export page.
  2. Import it into your calendar app:
  • Google Calendar: Settings → Import & export → Select file → Import.
  • Apple Calendar: File → Import → choose the file.
  • Outlook: File → Open & Export → Import/Export → Import an iCalendar file.

The band/venue feed URLs are stable — subscribe to them in your calendar app and new gigs appear automatically. (The `/me.ics` feed needs your login, so most calendar apps can't subscribe to it — download it fresh instead.)

Google Calendar has no URL-based bulk import, so each upcoming show gets its own Add to Google Calendar one-click link. For the whole calendar at once, use the .ics import above.

Troubleshooting

The .ics looks empty. It only includes upcoming confirmed shows. Proposed or cancelled gigs are excluded on purpose.

Google Calendar shows the wrong day. .ics events are all-day dates with no timezone — check your calendar's timezone setting.

I get a 401 on /me.ics. Log in first — your personal feed needs your follows to build.
