Music Extras: Playlists, Lyrics, Tabs, and Discovery

Playlists

Anyone with an account can create playlists of tracks uploaded to MusicXen.

Venues can also create playlists (venue managers only).

Create a playlist: Go to My Playlists (`/playlists/mine`), give it a

name, and add tracks. Click Feature on profile to put an embedded audio

player on your profile (or the venue's page) — visitors can play it as they

browse.

Add tracks: From any playlist page, paste a track ID or use the "add"

button on track listings.

Lyrics & Guitar Tabs

Every track page has Lyrics and Guitar Tabs links (also on band

profiles under each song).

  • Anyone logged in can submit lyrics or tabs for any song.
  • Submissions go into a review queue — the band must approve them before

they appear on the page.

  • A song can have multiple approved lyrics and tabs; they all show.

Band admins: check the pending queue from your band's admin area to

approve or reject submissions.

Music Discovery

Discover (`/music/discover`) lets you find music by:

  • Band or song name
  • City, state, or country
  • Genre and subgenre

Sort by newest, most played, or A–Z. Uploaders set genre/subgenre when they

upload a track.

Played With / Played At

Band profiles show Played with (bands they've shared a bill with) and

Played at (venues they've played). Click any band or venue to see the

full shared history: dates, lineups, set times, and venues.

Tips

  • Keep lyrics/tabs submissions clean and accurate — bands are more likely to

approve well-formatted entries.

  • Tabs read best in a monospace font; the submit form uses one automatically.
  • Featuring a playlist on your profile is a great way to showcase your taste

— or, for venues, the vibe of the room.

Troubleshooting

  • My playlist player shows nothing: the playlist needs at least one

track, must be public, and must be marked "featured".

  • My lyrics submission isn't showing: it's pending band approval.
  • Can't create a venue playlist: you must be linked as a manager of that

venue (via the venue's staff/management page).
