Saved searches

Saved searches watch the site for you: store a filter set once, and the

🔖 Saved Searches page tells you how many new matches appeared

since your last visit.

  1. On the Musicians page, dial in your filters (genre, skill, age,

gear — the works).

  1. Under the results, name the search and click 🔖 Save this search.
  2. It appears on 🔖 Saved Searches with a live new-match count.

How new-match alerts work

  • Each saved search remembers when you last looked at it.
  • Anything matching that was created after that moment counts as new

and shows a green badge: 3 new.

  • Opening the search (click its name) stamps it "seen" and clears the

badge.

Alerts are in-app only — MusicXen has no mail server, so nothing is

emailed. Check the page when you're hunting.

Managing searches

  • Delete removes a saved search. It never touches the underlying

musicians, bands, or ads.

  • Save as many as you like: one per instrument you need, one per town,

one for dep emergencies.

Tips

  • Name searches like you'll read them in a month: "Blues drummers SLC"

beats "search 3".

  • Re-open a saved search after a gig falls through — the badge tells you

who's new since you last looked.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

  • Badge says 0 new but I know someone joined. "New" means created

after your last visit to that saved search — opening it resets the

clock.

  • My search disappeared. Only deletion removes one — check you're

logged in as the account that saved it.

  • Can I save band or wanted-ad searches? The Musicians page has the

save box today; band, wanted, dep, and jam kinds are supported for

alerts.
