Dep musician pool

The dep pool is the substitute bench: musicians who flagged

themselves available for last-minute fill-in work, sorted by distance

from you.

How to join the pool

  1. Go to Edit profile → Dep work.
  2. Check Available as a dep (substitute) musician.
  3. Set Notice needed — e.g. "2 hours", "1 day". Be honest; bands

plan around it.

  1. Save. You now appear in the pool with your instruments and notice.

To leave the pool, uncheck the box and save.

How to hire a dep

  1. Open 🥁 Dep pool (linked from the Musicians page).
  2. Filter by instrument if you like — the list is already sorted nearest

first.

  1. Each card shows instruments and how much notice they need.
  2. Hit 🎵 Request audition to open an audition thread, or message

them directly.

Tips

  • Deps are for gigs, not dating: say the date, the pay, and the set

length in your first message.

  • Keep your availability calendar marked — it feeds your match score and

tells bookers you're actually free.

  • A short notice ("2 hours") gets you more calls but only if you can

genuinely make it.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

  • I'm flagged but not in the pool. The pool only lists active

musician-role accounts. Check your role on Edit profile.

  • Distance looks wrong. It uses the location pin from your profile —

update it under Edit profile.

  • Nobody's in the pool near me. It starts empty in every town; the

filter still works once locals flag themselves.
