Compatibility quiz

The compatibility quiz is three quick questions that boil down to "are

we on the same wavelength?" Your answers appear as a **❤ compatibility

%* on musician search results — but only when both* sides have taken

the quiz.

The three questions

  1. Commitment — For fun, serious hobbyist, or professional.
  2. Originals or covers — Originals, covers, or both.
  3. Influences — your existing influences tag cloud counts

automatically; no extra step.

How to take it

  • Open ❓ Compatibility quiz (linked from the Musicians page) and

answer the two dropdowns, or

  • answer them on Edit profile under Compatibility quiz.

Either place saves to your profile.

How the % is calculated

  • Commitment — 40 pts. Same level is full marks; adjacent levels

half; opposite ends low.

  • Originals vs covers — 30 pts. Same answer full; one side answering

"both" most of it; a straight originals-vs-covers clash low.

  • Influences — 30 pts. Share of influences in common. Empty on one

side scores half, not zero.

Hover the ❤ badge on any result for the breakdown.

Tips

  • Answer honestly, not aspirationally: the quiz is for your benefit,

matching you with people who want the same thing.

  • A low score isn't an insult — a "for fun" player and a touring pro

just want different weeks.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

  • No ❤ badges anywhere. Badges only appear when both you and the

other musician answered the quiz. Take it, then check again.

  • I changed my answers; scores look stale. They recompute live on

every search — reload the page.

  • My influences don't count. They come from the comma-separated

influences box on Edit profile — add some.
