On-tour date ranges

Mark the stretches when the band is out of town — "Midwest run, Oct 10–18" — so nobody books a local gig on top of the tour.

How to add tour dates

  1. Open your band page → Tour Dates (`/bands/<id>/tour-dates`).
  2. Name the run, set start and end dates, and leave blocks local bookings checked.
  3. Save. If any booked dates fall inside the range, you'll get the loud clash warning first and can save anyway if you mean it.

What "blocks local bookings" does

  • The range renders hatched on the band's Free Dates calendar.
  • Clash detection treats every date in the range as claimed — adding a hold or toggling free inside it warns loudly.
  • The list shows how many booked shows each range covers, so overlaps are visible at a glance.

Uncheck "blocks local bookings" for informational ranges (a festival week where you're still taking local fill-ins, for example).

Tips

  • Add the range before building tour holds — the routing view is easier to read when the away-stretch is marked.
  • Name ranges after the actual run ("Southwest loop") — future-you will thank present-you.

Troubleshooting

I got a clash warning but the shows are part of the tour. That's exactly right — the warning is telling you those dates are claimed, which you already knew. Save anyway.

A local gig got booked inside my range. The booker saw the warning and clicked through. The range list shows the overlap so you can sort it out.
