City Pages

One URL for all the music in a city: /city/salt-lake-city (or any city name, lowercased with dashes instead of spaces).

What's on the page

  • Tonight's shows in the city,
  • Upcoming shows (bands, venues, dates),
  • Bands that call the city home,
  • Venues in the city,
  • Lesson instructors based there.

How to use it

  • The URL is bookmarkable and shareable — send a friend `/city/ogden` and they see Ogden's whole scene.
  • Every band and venue page links to its city's page ("More: 🎶 Music in …").
  • The slug comes from the city fields bands, venues, and users already fill in — no separate setup.

Tips

  • Promoting a show? Make sure the show's city field matches the city page you want it on.
  • Moved your band? Update the hometown city on your band profile and the page updates itself.

FAQ

My city page 404s. Nobody has listed a band, venue, show, or instructor in that city yet — the page only exists once there's something to show.

Two cities share a name (e.g. Ogden, UT vs Ogden, KS). The page matches by city name across states for now; state-scoped URLs may come later.

The city name in the URL has dashes. Spaces become dashes: "Salt Lake City" → `/city/salt-lake-city`. Matching ignores case.
