Anti-Spam Policy
1. Our Commitment
MusicXen has a zero-tolerance policy toward spam. We do not send unsolicited bulk email or text messages, we do not sell or rent our members' email addresses or phone numbers, and we do not allow the Service to be used to send spam to anyone — members or non-members. This policy supplements the acceptable-use rules in our Terms of Service.
2. What Counts as Spam
- Unsolicited bulk or repetitive messages, posts, comments, or invitations, especially commercial or promotional ones;
- Inviting people you do not know, or inviting addresses or numbers from purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested lists;
- Sending the same or substantially similar message to many members, particularly by automation or scripts;
- Promoting products, services, gigs, or outside platforms in other members' messages, or on pages and shows you do not manage, without the recipient's consent;
- Creating accounts, bands, venues, or events primarily to advertise, redirect traffic, phish, or distribute malware;
- Collecting or harvesting members' email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact information from the Service for any off-Service mailing;
- Forging headers, sender identity, or routing information, or impersonating another person or entity.
Promoting your own band, venue, or shows on your own pages, in your own posts, and through the Service's built-in sharing tools is welcome — that is what MusicXen is for. The line is consent: reach people who chose to follow you or who you genuinely know, not everyone you can find.
3. Rules for Invitations
- Invite only people you know personally and who would reasonably expect or welcome the invitation;
- An invitation is tied to the email address or phone number it was issued to. Do not share personalized invitation links or codes publicly or post them to list sites;
- Invitation limits in your account exist to keep invitations meaningful. Circumventing them — including with additional accounts — is a violation of this policy.
4. Email and Text Messages We Send
- Service messages: We send transactional email and text messages necessary to operate your account — email verification, phone verification codes, password resets, booking and show notifications, and invitations sent at a member's direction to that member's invited contact. Phone verification codes are sent only when you request one; standard carrier message and data rates may apply to text messages.
- Marketing: We do not currently send marketing email. If we ever do, it will be sent only to members who opted in, will clearly identify MusicXen as the sender, and will include a working unsubscribe link honored promptly, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
- We never ask for your password by email or text. Messages that do are not from us — please report them.
5. How We Fight Spam
MusicXen is invite-only, and we apply technical measures including rate limits on invitations, messages, and posts; human-verification checks at signup; and review of reported content. We may adjust these measures at any time.
6. Reporting Spam
Report spam using the report tools where they appear on the Service, or email musicxen@gmail.com with a link to the content or the username involved. We review every report.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result, at our discretion and without prior notice, in content removal, invitation and messaging limits, account suspension, or permanent termination, including for a first offense in serious cases (phishing, malware, harvested-list invitations). If you believe enforcement against your account was a mistake, email musicxen@gmail.com and we will review it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced on the Service, and the "Last updated" date will change.
