Preferred & hard-no genres

Your venue profile has two genre lists:

  • Genres you book — what you actually put on the calendar.
  • Hard-no genres — what you will never book, no matter the pitch.

Both show on the venue page. The Venues directory's genre filter also

excludes owners whose venues hard-no the searched genre, so a metal

band never wastes a pitch on a room that banned metal after the 2019

incident.

Setting your genres

  1. Open Edit venue profile on your venue page.
  2. Under Basics, enter the genres you book, comma-separated

(e.g. `Rock, Metal, Punk`).

  1. Enter the hard-no genres in the next field (e.g. `EDM, Hip-hop`).
  2. Save venue profile.

Tips

  • Be honest on the hard-no list. It filters you out of searches you'd

decline anyway, and bands appreciate not wasting their time.

  • Keep the "genres you book" list to what you'd actually say yes to

this month, not everything you've ever booked.

FAQ

Does the hard-no list block booking requests?

No — it filters directory searches. A band can still find your venue

page directly and pitch; use your reply (or the decline button) for the

final word.
