Wanted ads: expiry and bumps

Wanted ads on the Musicians Wanted board die on their own and can be

pushed back to the top — no manual gardening required.

Auto-expiry

  • Every ad gets an expiry date (30 days by default, 1–90 when posting).
  • Expired ads disappear from the board automatically. They aren't

deleted — the band can still see and re-post them — but nobody else does.

  • Ads with no expiry date stay up until the band closes them.

Bumping

Bands get one free bump per week per ad:

  1. Open the Musicians Wanted board.
  2. On your band's ad, click ⬆ Bump.
  3. The ad jumps back to the top of the board with a "(bumped)" stamp.

Bumping refreshes the ad's posted date; it does not change the expiry.

Band-side gear filters

Above the board you'll find two filters:

  • Band has PA — only ads whose poster listed PA gear.
  • Band has transport — only ads whose poster listed a van/trailer.

These read the poster's gear list, so keep your band contact's gear

up to date if you want the filters to find you.

Tips

  • Write the role like a human: "Drummer" beats "percussionist needed

asap!!!" — the Bands looking for me digest matches on role words.

  • Bump on the day your rehearsal actually happens (often mid-week) for

the most eyeballs.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

  • My ad vanished. It expired, or a band admin closed it. Check the

band's page — expired ads can be re-posted from there.

  • Bump says "already bumped this week". One free bump per week per

ad, no exceptions. The button comes back 7 days after the last bump.

  • I don't see the Bump button. Only admins of the band that posted

the ad see it.

  • The gear filter hides my band's ad. The poster (or band contact)

needs PA/transport entries in their gear list — the filter can't see

gear that was never listed.
