Your MusicXen profile

Your profile is your public face on MusicXen — the page other musicians,

bands, venues, and fans see when they find you. A finished profile gets

found more often and gets more replies.

What lives on your profile

  • Basics: username, city/state, bio, profile photo.
  • Music: instruments you play, genres, years playing, skill level.
  • Media: demo reel (audio tracks), video intro, photos.
  • Proof: influences, endorsements, gear list, "Looking for" banner.
  • Completeness score: a meter showing how finished your profile is —

finish it and you rank higher in search and the finder.

How to fill it out

  1. Open your profile (click your username in the header, or go to

/me).

  1. Click Edit profile and work through the sections: basics, music,

media, proof. Every section saves on its own.

  1. Pick your instruments and genres from the pickers — these drive the

musician search and match scores, so be specific.

  1. Add a bio in your own words: what you play, what you're after

(gigs, a band, sessions, teaching).

  1. Upload a demo reel and a short video intro — profiles with playable

audio get far more contact.

  1. Set your availability calendar so bookers can see when you're free.

Tips

  • Turn on the "Looking for" banner if you want gigs, a band, or

students — it puts a visible flag on your profile and feeds the

Looking-for boards.

  • Link your band(s) so your profile shows your current projects.
  • Keep your city current — distance is part of every match score.
  • Musicians can also build a press kit (EPK) from their profile for

sending to venues and bookers.

Troubleshooting

My profile doesn't show up in search. Check that your city is set

and your instruments/genres are picked — search filters on those. New

accounts may take a few minutes to index.

My photo won't upload. JPG, PNG, or WebP under the size limit shown

on the upload form. Huge phone photos sometimes need to be saved at a

smaller size first.

The completeness meter is stuck. It's computed from specific fields

(bio, photo, at least one instrument, one genre, city). Fill each one and

it moves.
