Fan photos & approval

Your photos from the crowd can end up on the band's own page — with a human approval step in between so bands keep control of how they look.

For fans: how to get your photo on a band's page

  1. After the show, open the show page and use the photo upload under Photos (uploads open once the show date passes).
  2. Your photo appears on the show page immediately, marked "pending approval".
  3. A band admin or the venue's manager reviews it on the band's fan-photos page.
  4. Approved photos appear on `/bands/{id}/fan-photos` — and you get a notification saying so.

For band admins & venue managers: the approval queue

  1. When a fan uploads a photo from one of your shows, you get an in-app notification.
  2. Open the band's fan-photos page (linked from the band page's Fans tab).
  3. Approve puts it on the page; reject deletes it.

Photos the band uploads itself (marked "as band") skip the queue — they're pre-approved.

What gets approved

Band admins decide — but as a rule of thumb: in-focus shots of the stage, the crowd, and the night's atmosphere are what bands want. Blurry, off-topic, or inappropriate shots get rejected.

Tips

  • Caption your photos — bands are more likely to approve a shot with context ("Encore, second night").
  • Old photos (uploaded before this feature existed) were grandfathered as approved, since they were already public.

Troubleshooting

My photo is stuck "pending approval". The queue is manual — give the band a few days. If a show is old and the band is inactive, it may never get reviewed.

My photo was rejected. Only the band admin / venue manager decides; there's no appeal flow. Keep it to great shots of the show itself.

I'm a band admin and never got the notification. The notification goes to band admins (roster role "admin" or the `is_admin` flag) and the venue's managers. Check your role on the band's member list.
