Selling tickets

Sell tickets to your shows right on MusicXen. Fans buy online, get QR

codes, and your staff scans them at the door. You keep 85% of every

sale — the platform takes a 15% fee.

For venues: set up ticket sales

  1. Connect Stripe (one time): open your venue's Ticketing page and

click Connect with Stripe. Stripe walks you through a quick

onboarding (bank account, tax info). After that, your 85% lands in

your bank automatically — no manual payouts.

  1. Create ticket tiers: on any show page, add tiers like "General

Admission" ($20, 100 tickets) or "VIP" ($50, 20 tickets).

  1. Share the show's ticket link — fans buy from the show page.

For fans: buying tickets

  1. Open the show page and click through to tickets.
  2. Pick how many of each tier you want and check out.
  3. You'll get an order page with a QR code per ticket. Show it at the

door — staff scans each code once.

At the door: scanning

Venue staff open the scan endpoint (or a simple scanner page) and scan

each fan's QR code. A code can only be used once — already-scanned

codes are rejected with the time they were first used.

Money flow

  • Fan pays the full ticket price through Stripe Checkout.
  • 85% goes straight to the venue's connected Stripe account.
  • 15% stays with MusicXen as the platform fee.
  • The venue dashboard shows gross sales, fees, and your payout.

FAQ

Do I need Stripe to sell tickets?

Yes — ticket money moves through Stripe. Connect takes a few minutes

and you only do it once.

Can I refund a ticket?

Refunds are handled in your Stripe dashboard. Mark the order refunded

there; the QR codes stay invalid once the order is refunded.

What if a fan's QR won't scan?

Look up their order by name on the venue dashboard and verify

manually — then mark the ticket used so it can't be reused.

Mobile wallet passes

Fans can add tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet from their

order page or My Tickets.

Setup required (site operator):

  • Apple Wallet: Needs an Apple Developer account ($99/year) and a

PassKit certificate (.p12). Set these environment variables:

`WALLET_CERT_PATH` (path to .p12), `WALLET_CERT_PASSWORD`,

`WALLET_PASS_TYPE_ID`, `WALLET_TEAM_ID`.

  • Google Wallet: Needs a Google Cloud project with the Wallet API

enabled and a service account. Set `GOOGLE_WALLET_ISSUER_ID` and

`GOOGLE_WALLET_CREDENTIALS`.

Until these are configured, the wallet buttons are hidden and the

web QR codes work as normal.
