Cancelling a booking

Plans change. A band admin or a venue manager can cancel any live

booking from its booking page under Cancel this booking — pick the

reason that fits:

  • Declined by venue, Band cancelled, Venue cancelled
  • Weather, Low ticket sales, Double-booked, Force majeure
  • Soft hold expired (set automatically — see below), Other

What happens on cancel

  1. The booking leaves the pipeline and appears under Cancelled with

the reason shown.

  1. The calendar slot is freed so someone else can book the date.
  2. The other side is notified immediately.
  3. If the booking was confirmed or on soft hold, bands on the venue's

backup list whose date or genre matches get a backup call-out

notification — the opening goes to people who already volunteered to

fill it.

A venue that declines a proposal (rather than cancelling a live

booking) lands on the day's calendar view with matching backup bands

listed, for the same refill reason.

Expired soft holds cancel themselves with the reason "Soft hold

expired" — nobody has to remember to clean them up.
