Venue blackout dates

Blackout dates are nights your venue simply isn't booking —

private events, holidays, renovations, your own vacation. Mark them and

the site does the rest:

  • the date shows a Blacked out badge on the venue calendar,
  • new available slots are never materialized on blacked-out dates,
  • booking requests on those dates are rejected automatically — both

slot bookings and band-proposed shows.

Managing blackout dates

  1. Open Edit venue profile on your venue page and scroll to

Blackout dates.

  1. Pick the date, add a reason (e.g. `Private event`), and click **Add

blackout**.

  1. Remove one with Remove when plans change.

Blackouts can also be added by managers from the venue calendar's

manage panel via the same list.

Blackouts vs blocking

  • Blackout = the venue is closed/unavailable that night. No slots

are created, and any booking attempt is refused.

  • Block dates (calendar manage panel) = flips existing available

slots to "blocked" for a date range, e.g. when the booker is away but

the room could still host something. Booked and proposed shows are

never touched by either.

FAQ

What happens to existing bookings on a date I black out?

Nothing — blackouts only stop new bookings. Already-booked and

proposed shows stay exactly as they are.

Can I black out a past date?

The form accepts any date, but only future dates affect booking. Past

dates are harmless history.
