New to Town

/new-to-town — the fast lane for musicians who just moved here: jam nights with no audition, teachers to get you up to speed, and bands openly looking for players.

What's on the page

  • 🎸 Jam nights & open mics — recurring weekly sessions. Show up, plug in, play. No audition.
  • 🎓 Lesson instructors — meet a teacher and learn the local scene at the same time.
  • 🥁 Easy first gigs — bands with active "musicians wanted" ads. Joining a band is the fastest way to get on a stage in a new city.

Tips

  • Jam nights are the best networking in town: regulars know every room, every booker, every open slot.
  • Instructors often sub or dep — tell yours you're looking to play out.
  • Wanted ads auto-expire, so what's listed is current. Reply quickly; good spots go fast.

FAQ

I host a jam night — how do I get listed? Post it under Jams; active recurring jams appear here automatically.

I'm an instructor and I'm not listed. Create your instructor profile under Lessons and you'll show up.

These are all far from me. The page isn't location-filtered — pair it with Tonight near me and city pages once you know your neighborhood.
