Your band page's big decisions
Some decisions are too big for one person to make alone,
so MusicXen runs them as band votes. Renaming the
band, archiving it, deleting it, moving to a new band,
and adding a member after setup each need a **majority
of ALL the band's voting members** — members with
accounts who are active in the band. Staying silent
doesn't count as a yes: the proposal only passes when
enough members actually vote for it.
Proposing something casts your own yes vote. Everyone
else who can vote gets a notification, and the vote sits
on the band's Admin tab with a running tally until it
passes or can't pass anymore. You can change your vote
while it's open. A band with one voting member decides
on the spot — nothing changes for solo acts.
Renaming
A rename keeps everything: the page, its web address,
its followers, its history. The old name stays on the
page as "Formerly known as", the About tab keeps a full
name history, and shows from before the rename still
show the old name in other bands' "played with" lists —
history is stamped with the name the band had at the
time.
Starting a NEW band instead of renaming? That's a move
(below) — a new band never takes over the old page.
Moving to a new band
Moving freezes the old page and points it at the new
band. One automatic "we moved" post goes up on the old
page (with your note, if you wrote one), and the old
band's followers get an invite to follow the new
page. Nobody is transferred automatically — following
the new page is each fan's choice. An admin can undo a
move from the old page's banner; the post and the
invites already sent stay, because they're history.
Archiving and deleting
Archiving freezes the page as a readable memorial —
nothing is lost and it can be unarchived later.
Deleting is the only full erasure: the page and its
content are gone for good. Even then, other bands'
played-with history keeps your band's name as plain
text, without a link.
Previous members
When someone leaves the band or is removed, their
member rights end right away — no posting as the band,
no admin, no vote — and they move to a **Previous
members** section on the About tab with their role and
their time in the band. Their credits stay. If they
rejoin later, they move back to the roster and the
earlier stint stays in their history.
Your QR card
Every band page has a printable QR card — find it
on the Admin tab. The QR code goes straight to your
band's own web address, with your band's name and
MusicXen's name on the card. Print it for the merch
table, the tip jar, a flyer, or the venue door: anyone
who scans it lands on your page. Venues have the same
card in their manager tools.
