The classic look, everywhere

The classic MusicXen design — the one your profile page got back first — now frames the whole site: the same blue top bar, black menu, and grey marbled frame on the feed, messages, search, marketplace, settings, band and venue pages, and everywhere else. Nothing moved away; this is a walk through where things live now.

The blue top bar

The bar at the very top keeps the current MusicXen logo and the "Where music happens" tagline. Next to them:

  • The envelope opens your messages. The red badge is your real unread message count.
  • Contacts goes to your friends and contacts; Add goes to invites.
  • The search box searches the whole site.
  • The bell opens your notifications (with its own unread badge).
  • The Help coin opens this Help Center.
  • Your photo and name go to your profile.
  • The ☰ button opens the full menu panel — every section of the site in one list, the same panel the old header had. Every item in the panel carries its own picture beside its name, so you can spot Home, Feed, Calendar, My Calendar and the rest by sight; no two items share a picture.

Signed out, the bar offers search, Help, Log in, and Sign up.

The black menu

Under the blue bar, the black menu is the main way around the site: Home (your feed), Messages, Contacts, Calendar, Music, Marketplace, Bands, Venues, Notifications, and Settings — plus Admin if you run the site, the theme switch, your @name, and Log Out.

The second black row changes with the section you're in, the way the old second bar did: on Messages it offers Inbox / Compose / Unread / Groups / Shows; in Music it's Marketplace, My Tabs, Genres, Trending, Shuffle, and Chords; on band and venue pages it links Bands, Venues, and Charts; and so on. The current place is lit in blue.

The frame

Pages sit inside the classic composition: a grey marbled field inside a black frame, with blue end columns beyond it on wide screens. On a phone the columns stack and the page never scrolls sideways. The whole composition scales to fit your screen at every width — both blue edges stay on screen, from a small phone to a wide monitor, with no sideways scrolling to reach them.

Buttons wear the same glossy black style everywhere, page titles sit on the classic blue section bars, and comments everywhere — feed, walls, marketplace — carry the same byline as profile comments: who wrote it, what they play, their band, and where they're from.

Themes

The classic chrome belongs to the classic (blue) theme, which is the site's default. If you've switched to a different theme — Daybreak, for example — your header stays exactly the one that theme has always had. Switch back to the blue theme any time from the menu's theme button to get the classic chrome.
