Guide: claiming a venue slot
Venues publish open time slots — here's how a band books straight into one, no proposal ping-pong.
Illustrated walkthrough — these are simplified drawings of the flow, not screenshots of the live pages.
The venue publishes slots
The venue creates slots — date plus start/end time — for the nights it wants live music. Each slot is available, and the venue chooses whether claiming one is instant or needs approval.
Find an open slot
Browse the venue's calendar or the free-bands board in reverse — venues with open slots show what's claimable. Read the venue's house rules first; you'll agree to them when you claim.
Claim it
Click the slot and hit book. The booking form comes prefilled from the slot (date, times, venue) — pick a gig template, add your notes, tick agree to house rules, and submit.
The slot locks
Claiming is atomic — if two bands click the same slot, only the first one gets it; the other sees it as taken, not a double-booking. An expired hold auto-releases the slot back to the board.
Approval (if the venue requires it)
Some venues auto-approve claims; others review them in Bookings like a proposal. Either way you get a notification, and the booking thread is where any negotiation happens.
Show page and show chat
A confirmed claim becomes a real show: public show page, show chat with the venue, and your slot marked booked. Promote from the flyer studio like any other show.
Troubleshooting
- The slot vanished mid-claim. Someone else claimed it first — the atomic claim means there's exactly one winner. Pick another slot.
- "You must agree to the house rules." Open the venue page, read the rules, then tick the agreement box on the claim form.
- My claim is stuck "pending". The venue reviews claims manually — check their response badge for typical speed, and don't claim a second slot for the same night while you wait.
